DESIGN PROCESS

We started working on the engines at the very beginning of the project, since those monsters are almost as important as a character in the movie.

After several tests that were more visually driven, I opted for a simplified logic:

taking a jet engine,

turn it vertical,

oversize it and then stuck it in a seven legged platform hovering above the remains of cities.

The whole complex is surrounded by a dam - the planet's pole had already melted from the heat of the dying sun. The legs' structure continue down to the Mantle of the earth, where the now underground cities are located, as rings around the giant engines.

The design really clicked in place when we got rid of the oversized structure for something more refined.
